LEGAL COSTS ADJUDICATIONS FOR HEARING DURING HILARY TERM 2022.
Remote Hearings
Due to the significant levels of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 in the community, parties and practitioners should be aware that as and from the 11th of January 2022 the Office of the Legal Costs Adjudicators will conduct the hearing of Adjudications, where possible by way of a remote hearing.
Only those matters that can he heard as fairly and effectively as they would be heard in the course of a physical hearing will be listed for a remote hearing.
Any cases which are unsuitable for a remote hearing or where a remote hearing may not be possible to be conducted fairly, will be heard by way of a physical hearing. Any cases involving witnesses will be heard by way of a physical hearing.
In all cases parties will be entitled to apply to the assigned Legal Costs Adjudicator, to have the matter listed otherwise than in accordance with the default position indicated in this notice.
The call over held on each Thursday at 9.30am during term, will continue to be a remote hearing.
Where the hearing of an Adjudication should be by way of a physical hearing, all parties attending the Office are expected to adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines and should continue to use face masks, exercise hand sanitation regularly and maintain physical distancing.
Parties to Adjudications are requested to ensure that they have the relevant log in details, which will be provided by the Office and the protocols for all remote hearings remains the same.
The situation will be subject to ongoing review and any changes to these arrangements will be published accordingly.
